chigbo is a singer-songwriter whose work spans the genres of alternative rock, pop, soft rock and soul. An Igbo musician raised in New York, chigbo has performed in Nigeria, Ireland, Ethiopia and parts of the United States. She studied music at Cornell University and worked for years as a private piano coach. 

The name "chigbo" is the short form of Chigborogu, meaning God resolves conflict/fight or brings peace.
