Biography
Ebony Magazine featured producer and entrepreneur Linda Obasi founded Enyi Media Company in 2005 in New York City.
Her first full length film, Overseas, was shot on location in parts of Nigeria and the US and features Nollywood legend Patience Ozokwor (aka Mama G) as well as Nonso Diobi, O'Fia Mbaka, Susan Obi and more. Overseas premiered on Amazon Prime and was the main selection screened at the 2015 African Cinema Day Festival, hosted by the African Advisory Counsel of the Bronx Borough President of New York.
She is currently in post-production of a wellness docuseries entitled The Fufu Diet, which will be available on Netflix, among other platforms. The Fufu Diet features African experts in the fields of holistic medicine, wellness, nutrition, agriculture, fitness and cuisine. Her production credits include the features The Prophet, When Men Fail, the short Khandan the series Weird Bird and the radio series Guyman.
Linda Obasi is the creator of EnyiCast, Africa's premiere casting app. Originally launched in 2007 as a website, it was released in 2022 as a mobile app. EnyiCast is an international platform for entertainment industry production casting and staffing. It is Nollywood's most active app with users spanning talent in both performance fields as well as technical crews. EnyiCast now functions in over 100 countries.
Linda Obasi is in pre-production of a film collaboration with Uzzitz Center for the Arts & Culture, in Abuja Nigeria, which will explore the issue of male child abuse in Nigeria. She produced a radio play titled Guyman, a romantic comedy being developed into a full length feature film and is a judge on the jury of the Imo International Film Festival ImoIFF .
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film from Cornell University and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from The Theatre School (DePaul University). She has worked extensively as an actor and producer in the United States and Nigeria.
